How journalists are guaranteeing the Left’s takeover
While I support some of Trump’s policies and some of Bidens’, neither he nor Biden nor any Leftist such as Harris deserve to be president.
But I have long believed in the importance of a media that reports rather than manipulates us into believing its narrowly derived Leftist agitprop.
In a recent manifestation of the media’s decades-long assault on Republicans and eight-year attack on Trump, a powerful journalist who has chosen to remain anonymous, urged the nation’s journalists to NOT use the iconic images of a defiant Trump after he had been shot — “It’s free PR.” Indeed, TIME just changed its cover from that iconic image to a Leftist one.
Talk about a double standard! The media, en masse, has given billions in free PR to everything Leftist, from excuse-making for Biden’s senility to “reassuring” pictures of him jumping up and down. They used Democratic operative George Stephanopoulos to be the “journalist” lobbing softballs to Biden, even allowing Biden note cards — They’d never allow a Republican that. CNN’s lead journalist, Jake Tapper associated Trump many times with Hitler, using out-of-context and otherwise invalid quotes. Talk about incitement to violence! Less than 24 hours after Trump was shot, ABC managed to concoct that Trump brought it on himself. The media endlessly refers to Trump as “convicted felon,” charges that never would have been brought if the perpetrator were a Democrat. Google-search bleached the Trump website from searches and pushed Biden to #1.
But Trump is merely the latest example of media insistence that its Leftist bidding be done. Hillary Clinton attempted to ensure Trump’s loss by creating a false dossier that implied that Trump colluded with the Russians, and in the previous election, Hillary illegally tried to destroy her rivals. That was far worse in intent and effect than the Watergate break-in. Yet the media shrugged or threw her softballs. In contrast, the media would not relent until it drummed Nixon from office and continues to treat Watergate as far worse than Hillary’s actions. Then there’s Hunter Biden who got a fortune in consulting fees from China and Ukraine without any experience, risking national security. If a Republican did that, it would be front-page for months. With Lefty Biden’s son, a shrug.
The mainstream media is America’s greatest power. It is far from clear that society would be better if we adopted its core goal: yet more redistribution. But the largely unchecked media is forcing us there, down to what pictures we see. The MSM wants a Leftist president, one more potent than Biden, Kamala will do, and ever more, the MSM gets what it wants.
