The 7 ways Medium got membership launch wrong
Jessica Semaan

I was invited to become a member and I immediately signed on, primarily because I believe it’s important to create a community that values writers and the sharing of high-quality articles over ads. Most of your questions were answered in the private post that invitees got access to. The vision was there. I felt instantly inspired. I do agree they should’ve offered more information to people who didn’t get the initial invitation, but it appears that’s happening now.

I’ve read a few articles today on people’s reactions to the way they rolled this out. Although I read yours with an open mind, it still seems to me that you wrote this from a place of rejection, a knee-jerk reaction for not having intially been invited, for not being an “insider.”
