Silence, Stance, Dance

A poem for latin dancers

Go around in circle

Faces are similar

Hold through many hands

Your touch is familiar

One more time, the teacher says

One more time, we smile

One more time, we dance

Our hands are together

Dance to the dreamy laud

Mirroring bodies

Oops, a bit offbeat we think out loud

Just because we enjoy dancing too much

Lose track of music and time

Feel nothing but our dance and touch

What music?

What dance routine?

What time?

All I know is our hands are together

Our bodies melt together

Time’s up, the teacher says

Wait!

What music?

What dance routine?

What time?

All I know is we just dance

Night gets darker,

Dreams travel further

It is now

In the hall we just dance
