Understand Your Downloads, Keyword by Keyword

In the ASO thread on Quora, we saw someone ask, is there a tool on the Google Play or iOS App Store that allows you to see how many downloads are coming from each app? And sadly, all the answers read, basically, “No, but wouldn’t that be AWESOME”.
Happily, we are proud to say YES — there is actually a tool that lets you do that. Yesterday, we announced our Download Estimations Per Keyword feature in your dashboard.
To see how it works, take a look at the example above, the app VPN Hero Shield. Some of the keywords they’re ranking for include “vpn”, “vpn free” and “proxy”. Now just by going to your dashboard, you can tell which keywords are getting you the most downloads. Surprise, surprise — “vpn” is netting 64% of VPN Hero Shield’s downloads. “Proxy”, on the other hand is pretty low-performing.
Now we know there are some questions you might have, namely, “How can I apply this awesomeness to my own app??”. Let’s jump right in.
How do you data wizards calculate download estimations per keyword?
Well, we can’t reveal everything, but since we have over 4 million app’s deep data over the last two years and we update every benchmark daily — our awesome and hard-working data scientists used existing information and filtered it through our algorithm to arrive at these percentages.

Is this real data?
No, it’s an estimation, however a very accurate one (see Incipia’s study just last month about Mobile Action being ranked as the #1 most accurate ASO tool). Unfortunately, no one can give you the actual data, but this is the next best thing!
Where can I find it?
To use Download Estimations Per Keyword, go to your Keyword Analysis section under ASO Intelligence. Scroll down until you reach your keyword chart, it’s the third tab. Voila! Or — you could just click this link.
How can I apply this estimation data to my own app?
It will help to find the most effective keywords you should be using for your ASO and advertising, potentially raising your ranking, downloads, and revenue.
Now, you can stop wasting time on keywords that aren’t getting you real results. Ditch the ineffective ones, and get the downloads you want. Check out Download Estimations Per Keyword!
