Taking Action
Stop deferring life
I was able to work remotely for a year, and discovered a version of the mobile lifestyle. Recently inspired by Tim Ferriss, his New York Times Best Seller, The 4-Hour Workweek, I found a new notion to aspire for, the New Rich. I learned to produce my work output more efficiently to free up time in my day to take better care of myself. Focus on my diet, health, and overall mental clarity.
We live in a finite world; our lives have an expiration date the moment we’re born. Life is too short to waste it on doing something, like a job, that only fulfills your financial addictions.
This lead me to realize that I have been deferring life because I was chasing perceived happiness instead of my own happiness. Caught up with the hustle of my immediate environment, I was misguided and a slave to some of my own accomplishments. Even after realizing a lifelong dream of becoming a first time homeowner in my late 20s, my house no longer felt important. Over time, it turned into my prison. This wasn’t how I planned it and I need to change course, travel the world and take mini-retirements now. No excuses, I am still young and in the best shape of my life. I will be doing Tim Ferris a disservice if I don’t take action.
