The following points are quick notes that make the Raspberry Pi aficionado in me — happy!
- Four USB slots means I no longer need to connect a USB hub.
- Makes my production environment cleaner
- Reduces the overhead of dealing with multiple hardware vendors.
- The default USB current supply will be 600mA, and is scalable to 1.2A by modifying the config.txt.
- This should provide more stability over USB Hub.
- These USB slots have the ability to power other devices too.
- Better audio quality will be an added feature capability for my audio related products.
- Reduced requirement of power supply is great news!
- Any of my typical mobile chargers will work for me.
Aesthetically — the rounded corners are good, but if you are thinking that the board will fit into an Altoids tin, then that’s not happened yet…
What else?
$35 hasn’t changed… that is a …God bless!
What else is on my wish list?
1. 1 GB Ethernet
2. 1 SATA connector
3. More RAM, may be 1 gig
But I am sure, that almost changes the board completely…
For the better? …Will have to just wait and watch this space!
