EPL MIDWEEK REVIEW SHOW : GAMEWEEK 2
1. MANCHESTER UNITED: MARTIAL MAKES HIS CASE
During the preseason, Mourinho iterated his desire to sign four players. One of whom was Perisic. The United Camp wanted a direct winger with the ability to go past players with speed and to be able to score the odd goal and give an assist. It was part raising the goals in the team and part looking for speed when United counter attack. So far, Martial has proved promising. With two sub appearances and two goals, it is hard to argue that he is not on form. Even after his goal, Mourinho known not to celebrate often gave a quick nod with his lips still together. That is a sign of approval. He was impressed. The question is can he win his place back in the first team? Mourinho isn’t one to give favours and likes to continue with a winning formula, so expect him to take the same route until the win comes. What Martial is proving though, is he may just be the key United are looking for. If he gets his consistency right, he will be like a double signing for United because he already has a strong technique and can finish. Therefore, the plaintiff Martial is making his case. It is up to Mourinho’s court to decide how early to take up the case.

ANTHONY MARTIAL THIS SEASON IN THE EPL:
25 minutes
2 sub apps
2 goals
1 assist
2. HUDDERSFIELD: ONE TO WATCH?
Overtime, it has been a norm that the new boys coming to the league would always struggle from their very first day. This though, has not been the same story of Huddersfield. After gaining promotion by beating Reading on penalties in the playoff season, Huddersfield is enjoying the perfect start to a season under David Wagner compared to the other new boys as they got one over another promoted team(Newcastle) under the guidance of Rafa.It is safe to say David Wagner is enjoying it game after game. Yet to concede a goal and having scored 4, they are starting to look like they ready to stay in the Premier League. They have also made having some inspired signings like Aaron Mooy who got the winner over the Toons on Sunday with a sublime goal.

3. ARSENAL: ARSENE WENGER
It has been barely 2 weeks into the new season and #WengerOut is already trending again…
Arsene may be no Jose who criticizes players in front of the media but the opposite was the case on Saturday evening when Wenger blamed his central defence, but some things seem to never change. Arsene guided a comeback through Giroud against Leicester but this time it was not to be for the Gunners. Lack of signings has gotten the fans agitated again after spending only 52 million pounds only so far in the transfer window. The problem exists there and Wenger couldn’t resist but start Nacho at the central defence of a 3–4–2–1 formation and was made to pay when Nacho didn’t track Jese’s run before he slotted past Cech. The same problem was obvious again. A natural CB in Per sat on the bench while Nacho was to start in an unfamiliar position. His flaws were exposed again by the movement of Chipo Moting, Berahino, and Jese. In his defence Stoke is a tough team for any away side in the EPL. With a solid defence featuring Zouma and with Martins Indi on the bench, Stoke will be difficult to break down. They also have Jack Butland back on form. There were problems all over the team. Ozil going missing, Welbeck not composed enough and Xhaka giving the ball away on several occasions and most notably for the solitary goal. Hopefully, we don’t get to witness another #ArseneOut Campaign for the next 2 years.

4. WEST BROM: TONY PULIS
Over the past few seasons, West Brom has made significant progress in the league and it’s no wonder Tony Pulis was given contract extension till 2019 because he deserves it. The 59-year-old has been outstanding and has formed a reputation by which all his teams are known for and though, the season may be early but West Brom are already gathering up vital points and that is evident with 2 clean sheets already. This is a team not known for scoring much but they also don’t concede as much as you would expect them to and are very capable of upsetting the big Guns. This is the Pulis style as he is accustomed to maintaining results and consistency on small budgets. He is one of the most underrated English coaches if you ask me. His teams are always impressively organized it takes world class talent to break down more often than not. They also went to a tough Burnley Ground and picked up full points. If they continue to pick up points, they can be on course for another top 10 finish.
