10 Reasons Not To Move To Austin

1. The barbecue is delicious. You will get fat.
2. Lot’s of live music. You will fall behind in American Idol and The Voice.
3. It’s sunny most of the time, which makes it really hard to code outside.
4. The people are really friendly. It kind of forces you to be social.
5. It’s got a vibrant, diverse economy. You might actually have to work full time.
6. There are fun events almost every night of the week. People will expect you to go out and be social.
7. The public schools are fantastic, which means if you have kids you probably need to save for college.
8. The booming startup scene is attracting too many smart, interesting people in one place, ie annoying.
9. People love their dogs here, and often bring them to work and restaurants. The shedding is out of control!
10. It’s much cheaper than New York or SF never mind lower taxes. Figuring out what to do with the extra money is burdensome.
11. Austin still has book and record stores. Yes bookshelves are still a thing here.
