Set them right

Conventional wisdom would posit that we adapt our expectations to reality, but rather than doing that, we have this tendency of deluding ourselves, even when it’s harder than facing reality.

Once we wake up, we realize that our expectations were not only unrealistic, but far from even be the one we thought we’ve set.

Expectations are built in the first moments of an intimate relation (may it be friendship, love or business). Whenever we lie to ourselves, we lie to others and those delusions are what hurts the most in the end.

Reality is complex, harsh, but winnable. Hope, is simple, ethereal and ultimately unsatisfying.
