Training dogs using simple methods.

Recently, our family had to move from our basement to a high floor residence in the city, we had to vacuum our new apartment and the eldest stepfather decided to use 1 liter of light on the main staircase to train his dog, the experience was pretty amusing. However, even my stepfather was half expecting his dog to punish him on the stairs, and for a while, it was not to our advantage as we moved through our first 2 weeks of living in the new apartment.

Nonetheless, after almost 2 weeks, we had been getting used to the clutter of the home, our dog became used to the light, etc. we were losing sleep because he was increasing his sleep now (well probably 3 in the same night), and he was very food-obsessed, his incessant barking would wake up the whole family from our sleep deprivation. Now that we are looking for an experienced trainer, do you think he is good enough?

Welcome, I am Smionna Bawn. My pet name is Smio, our oldest dog. I’ve been keeping a detailed diary of the dog’s lifetime, hoping that one day we will find an experienced dog trainer. He is a Shetland Sheepdog, very similar to the komatik, except she has a very advanced scent sheen and delicate paws, all of this combined makes her rather special. She’s put much effort into training and now she’s in the third year of his training, he is trained to look for small objects in a room under the guise of sniffing his toys, she looks for any wandering dog wandering by behind the TV, and generally is really faithful to her commands. So you can get to know her pretty well — and start training your own dog.

Dogs have a pretty great life 😈

Here are the beginnings of my family dogs adventure:

Pre-living in a dorm

I first stayed in a dorm (about 2 weeks) before my placement at a bank. Working on a 4-month placement on Saturdays, there was a housing assistant waiting at our door, so I went straight in.

Once I got to the office, I met one of the senior members of staff working on the live-in staff trainees session (also two different lectures for the day), discussing the topic of trainees training.

This was an interesting environment, and I remember being quite uncertain how to approach it. Looking back, the format of the four-week training was slow but long; the lessons didn’t occur right after I arrived, but I was present and safe for the next two weeks.

The final lecture on the development of visual detection accuracy in dogs, morning class.

I learned about ASI (Animal-based Artificial Intelligence) and how our dog, Smio, tests when determining whether or not the structure of the floor and the objects are familiar.

During the three days, we used only our haptic senses to sense the size of the objects, and the dog’s nose to detect her prey(s) within the structure of the floor. At each instance, the dog would get off the floor first and go to her prey. Then on the sixth day, I had to stand behind the dog and move a few inches toward the dog’s target object. This helped me to build confidence in the dog and feel relaxed around her. Every three to four minutes, the dog would come to me and approach me to talk, making me her bait. I, in return, would gently ignore her every response to her prey, allowing her to find her prey safely.

This is where the challenge begins 🐶

Early morning session in our dorm, fine dogs.

My excellent trainer took me through the end of the four-week training session; we had also been creating a plan for the results we’d get from Smio.

For the night lessons, we used the first one a day as I was taking my OTA, and the night sessions were long — maybe some of the sleepless nights we’d been battling were the result of solving my theory during the day. This experiment went well, with her following her training well and never disappointing me.

The results 👍

In the end, all three sessions were successful — Smio passed all her tests, successfully passed the pure-bark test, and had also been successfully training, thanks to the dog’s sensitive senses. After the morning session, she left for her pup routine, and there she was licking my fingers in the morning as I walked her. She is now 3 years old, and still a devoted dog. Her main audience now has been my owner, but one day I’m sure my dog will train my pet, she knows how. 😭

Try it yourself and you’ll find out what I have been saying so far!
