Facebook, Please Give Us the Facebook Paper Experience Back

It’s been awhile…

I have been using Facebook Paper for months now and I have to say the user experience of the app is really awesome! The application really focused on simple user interaction and as a user, I felt happy using it. You have the News Feed and there are sections which you can choose aside of your default feed.

A couple weeks ago, I experienced some weird stuff changed in the app itself but I don’t really bother. Maybe I was the only one who’s experiencing the weird sudden disappearance of some sections in the app. A couple days later, a friend of mine told me about the weird “bug”, and she asked if I experienced it too. I told her: “Yes. Maybe it’s a bug and maybe there will be an update soon.”

And so, I filed a bug report to Facebook about some features are not working as expected. After I filed the report, I did some digging about what happened to the disappeared sections. Why does Facebook take those sections down from the app? I found this posted on Facebook Paper’s page:

But why? There’s no notifications to notify us (the users) about this change. I hope the change will be a better experience. If it’s not, it is such a pity and disappointment. Here’s the full post.

To me, categorised sections are much more organised rather than having a new section and comprised all of the disappeared sections into one. That’s lame! The app will be back to square one like the default app and there is no point of the awesome Paper experience.

Facebook, please give us the user experience back and at the same time I’m looking forward for an upcoming update 🙏
