The Market

Designing the identity of an app is hard, the market forces weak products out and only the excellently branded and marketed products survive.

Simply put : A product’s design is essential to it’s success.

Our approach

After a thorough discussion and analysis of our options with a Core Member of the team, this was my conclusion:

“In a market where the userbase size is critical, we must play it safe in order to attract the largest number of users naturally and effortlessly.”

Dating apps in general are laborious, users would not trust anybody with their sensitive data and to that extent we must uphold a simple & professional image.

This can be clearly seen in the competition, illustrated below.

Competitor Analysis : Dating Apps

We want to be approximately in the center of the chart, and that is what influenced the design decision.

Making correct and well researched decisions is what makes a successful business, the first few steps must be based on solid evidence.

Reception

A small scale groupe test done by core member of our team “Khayreddine Gabsi” proved the hypothesis, where 9/10 people correctly identified the app as a social and messaging centric app, and that boosts the chance of a user downloading the app based on it’s design relevancy alone.

In addition, with no context and information we found that 6/10* people guessed correctly that the app is a dating app, this threshold is excellent according to “Google Datasets” and will assure smooth operation early on.

*Methodology

In conclusion

A professional look, that exudes confidence and warmth synonymous with love. The design is excellent for it’s use case and our analysis projects a whopping 65% increase to user engagement.
