How to Run a SQL Query in Fusion/Cloud (BI Publisher)
This document will provide steps on how to run a provided SQL Query in BI Publisher in order to retrieve the resulting XML.
This can be used to provide support with the XML file for research purposes.
Steps:
- From the Home page, access Tools > Reports and Analytics
2. If needed, select the Browse Catalog button in the upper right corner to access the catalog
3. Drop-down on New and select Data Model
4. On the Diagram tab, drop-down on New Data Set (+) and select SQL Query
5. In the New Data Set window:
- Name: enter a name for the query
- Data Source: ApplicationDB_HCM
- Type of SQL: Standard SQL
6. Paste the SQL received into the SQL Query box
7. Select the OK button to exit the New Data Set window
8. Select the Data tab
9. Drop-down on Rows to increase the number of results returned
10. Select the View button
11. The results will default to Tree View for the XML; select Table View to see the results in table format
12. Select the Export button to export the XML results
Once exported, you can open it after downloaded.
