In the last few months, I have written some articles on how to plan your trip to the spiti valley. There are several factors that will contribute on how the final plan will turn out in the end.

Why to choose spiti valley as travelling spot?

· Located in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Spiti valley is a remote and enthralling destination known for its mesmerizing landscapes, ancient monasteries and distinct culture.

· It is also a cold desert.

· It is situated at a high altitude between 3000 to 4600 meters.

· It is cold and barren most of the times throughout the year.

v Getting there to spiti valley-

We are considering Delhi as the starting point. After reaching Shimla or Manali from Delhi, There are two routes to reach spiti using our own or public transport. The first route starts from Shimla and the second from Manali. The Shimla spiti road remains accessible throughout the year, while the Manali road is open for a few months in summer only as this road passes through high mountain passes such as Rohtang and Kunzum which receive heavy snowfall during the winters.

v Best time to visit

Most of the tourists reach spiti valley in summers, However many people also visit during winters. In the summer season weather is relatively good and most of the roads and passes are open for tourists. May to October is the best time.

v Where to stay

Depending on your budget there are several options available such as PWD rest houses they are reasonably priced, spacious and clean other options include Monasteries they are very basic and simple do not expect luxury from them one thing to keep in mind that not all the monasteries have the options to stay. Guest houses the most preferred choice for most of the tourists. There are some hotels as well depending on your budget.

v Places to see

· Key monastery: The biggest of all the monasteries in the spiti valley. It is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery.

· Tabo monastery: Another famous monastery.

· Chandrataal lake: Name derived from its crescent moon like shape

· Kunzum pass: a high mountain pass.

· Kibber village.

· Hikkim village: Famous for the highest post office in the world.

Apart from these there are numerous other places as well which you can visit depending on your budget and time. I am not including those attractions as the post would be very long.
