Beautiful, heart warming story.
One can wish cancer will be solved. But “cancer” is a general term for an array of things going amiss in different cells in the body, with only the common feature of outrageous and uncontrollable growth.
“We” have actually cured some forms of cancer, such as childhood leukemia or types of brain cancer. It’s like winning a step at a time. A magic cure seems unlikely. And maybe we’re better off curing malaria… but very few of us know someone who died of Malaria, while most of us have someone close to us who passed away from cancer. I feel it very much as well.
