It’s a good finding, but I wouldn’t rush into a definitive statement such as “If you’re in the armed services, living and working alongside people of all colors and ethnicities quickly becomes the norm” — there are many other explanations, such as who chooses to enlist, the economic statues of veterans, or some other variables. When most of the population is very segregated, any sub population may ‘accidentally’ live in less segregated communities.
