Why I’m Quitting UCB, And Its Problem With Diversity

Very well written article. I was never a part of the UCB program in NYC because I couldn’t afford it. I applied for the diversity scholarship as I’m gay and Jewish and at the time I was so poor I was homeless and on food stamps (which I mentioned in my initial application) and I was still denied. It’s sad that it’s an institution that maintains so much power in this industry yet it’s filled with primarily young, white, straight, well-off students. Much like an ivy league school
