Okay, I have to start off by being honest, I have wanted to review this game for the longest time, this brilliant game created by @killermike360, and @filiptibell.

What is Roses?

Roses is a first person single player horror game, and yes on Roblox. You play as a character whose friend Max has gone missing, so it is now up to you to find him inside of a old asylum built in 1940. Now hearing the word horror and Roblox together you are already imagining all of the free modeled ones like the multiple millions of Slender clones on Roblox, or perhaps some of the incredibly cliche “horror” games, but no. Roses is one of the first, if not the first actual horror game on Roblox.

Creativity & Originality

While Roses does not have the most unique of designs, or the most creative of plots, however it does have quite a few concepts you would have never imagined in Roblox, such as in Roses majority of the dialogue is voice acted, and no, the voice acting is not horrible at all. The voice acting in Roses is done right. Roses has one other good original side to it, Roses has a decent story to it.

Gameplay

As it is a single player first person horror game there is not much gameplay aside from navigating the variety of areas that you have to explore. You also have the ability to interact with objects during your exploration of this creepy old asylum. As thus the gameplay itself is fairly lackluster with not much too it, however the gameplay is enough to make this game work and immersive.

Building

The building in Roses is a combination of high detailed props, textures, meshes, and Roblox terrain, nothing too unique as a lot of games have done it before, however the building in Roses is done brilliantly, absolutely brilliantly. If you stop and take a look around the map for just a minute you will begin to notice subtle details in every area of the map.

Cons

When discussing the Cons of Roses majority of it will come down to the gameplay not having much depth to it. Roses is very much similar to a walking simulator where you go from point A to B do some things, and then repeat, however that does not in any way reduce the overall quality of the game. One another issue would be that if you play the game you will not most likely get “scared” or feel stressed, due to the aforementioned issue of being very much alike to a walking simulator, but to be fair it is not easy to create a true horror game on Roblox that scares you.

Summary

Overall I truly do love this game, it has an insane amount of work put into it and the quality reflects that. The game is truly a marvel to look at even if it does have issue so if anyone is interested in seeing a quality game with a fair amount of unique experiments in it, and incredible building I do highly suggest this game, at the moment it is however on paid access for 25R$ which is not a lot for the product you do get.
