Review what you wrote about what you found in Johnston Hall last week. Then look at your notes. Did you miss any details? What are the advantages and disadvantages of writing without looking at your notes?

I did miss a few details pertaining to the plaque I found. Some disadvantages I faced were minor details in what was written on the plaque. I found it pretty challenging to remember everything I saw but the things I did remember were the most obvious.

What did you learn from eavesdropping on a classroom?

I learned that it can be fun to be a fly on the wall. While I was listening in I was able to notice body language of students engaging in discussion. It was a bit of a political debate so it was interesting to see the eagerness of students to get their comments out.

What’s something you learned from a magazine or newspaper?

I learned that the MUSG President is stepping down. He stated that he was doing this because of his studies and to maintain a more well0 balanced life.

What is the Marquette Tribune editor in chief doing today?

Paul Salsini worked for the Milwaukee Journal for 37 years and now works part time teaching in the Journalism department at Marquette.

What can you find out about the professor you wrote down from the directory? What have they researched? What are they known for?

I wrote down Dean Kimo Ah Yun, he is the Dean of Communications.

What did you say in the note you put in a professor’s mailbox? What skills did you learn from this person?

I told Dr. Berg that I appreciated her teaching skills and that I love her class.

What did you learn from the student who works in student media?

Michael Hendricks told me to alway record unique ideas and stories that happen throughout a normal day/

What alum from the Alumni Hall of Fame inspires you and why?

Rudy Bednar, for his work on the conflicts in Tibet and elephant poaching in Kenya.

What did you see when you visited a new floor in Johnston Hall?

When I visited the basement of Johnston I noticed all of the past Marquette Tribunes hung all over the walls.

What do you notice when you turned your phone off?

When I turned off my phone on the first floor of Johnston it was complete silence but as I walked around I noticed a large number of student studying in the JPad.

Finally, a challenge for tomorrow. Don’t check your phone in the morning until after breakfast. Write down what you notice when you do this.
