MONDAY MORNING
Poem by Molly Durand 6/10/19
Been a minute since I felt myself
Put others first, no inner wealth
Forgetting what my momma knew
Do your part and please be true
A thunder bolt this morning free
Dance & sing, reviving me
The Cover up: claim “healing sick”
Smoke and mirrors, a draining trick
Letting vultures sip your ever well
Waxing love will fix their broken spell
Dangling carrots to keep you fed
But never biting, famished instead
Wake up darling no more bad dreams
No one can get you, plan or scheme
Take a dive you will survive
And all that’s dead will come alive
