Beautiful owl!! I also believe in trusting the artist when it comes to design. As long as they capture the meaning, I figure they are the experts on what will look best!

I love the idea of reinventing myself with every new tattoo I get. Some of the ones I have don’t mean as much to me as they first did, but I don’t regret a single one. They still tell a beautiful story about where I’ve been, without having to speak… and to me that says everything.

I always get a little self-conscious when people openly ask me the meaning behind mine, mostly because it almost always feel cliche when I speak it aloud, and it’s almost sacred to me. Each and every one I have signifies something special, even the semi-impulsive ones that I got when I needed a little physical pain to distract me. It’s cathartic in a way. Some of them also cover up ugly scars- the fact that I was able to put them in the past with a beautiful piece of art is amazing to me! I always love hearing about other people’s stories too, the ones they’re willing to share at least. Thanks for sharing a piece of yours ☺
