Introducing MomosWorld — The World’s First Kart Racing Game on the Blockchain
Gaming has always been regarded as a recreational activity — something you do only in your leisure time — for the dopamine effect.
No incentives. No external recognition for your gaming skills, which is even sadder considering that most hardcore gamers spend chunks of hours sitting at a desk and grinding hard on some excellent game time experience.
But that was until the advent of NFT gaming, stylishly referred to as GameFi.
This new frontier of innovation in the crypto world presents an ever-evolving paradigm shift, as seen in the recent breakthroughs of highly successful games like Axie infinity, Splinterlands, The Sandbox 3D, and, as you are about finding out, MomosWorld!
What is MomosWorld?
MomosWorld is a multi-phase play-to-earn NFT kart racing game launching on the Ethereum blockchain. The game-play design comprises two metaverse cast creatures that love the speed and stylish lifestyle — Jack and Momo.
Just exactly how these two came to be, is a long story we will save for another day, but let’s say something brief about them.
Momos are the kart riders. They are the super-cute mysterious player characters from the MomosWorld dimension. They resemble many earth creatures but with some significant differences; they can talk, need speed, and can be greedy for coins!
Also, Momos come in different forms. Some different types of Momos you could encounter in MomosWorld are the bunny type, monkey type, panda type, and even a llama type!
On the other hand, Jacks are what Momos call their human buddies and share a special bond based on love and trust. Players will play the role of Jacks as they help the Momos through their racing quests. You probably guessed it already; Jack is You!

The NFT Collections in MomosWorld
Two primary collections comprise the MomosWorld metaverse — MomoBlocks and MomoKarts.
What are MomoBlocks?
MomoBlocks are where all the fast and furious turbo actions take place. These are virtual 3D cubes that represent specific parts of racetrack lands. There will only ever be 10101 variations created from over 200+ hand-drawn traits.
What are MomoKarts?
A super cute kart rider, a road-loving fella such as you, a fusion of blocks into a 3D derivative racetrack, and then what else? Some karts of course!
MomoKarts are the speed-beast of the game. They are uniquely designed open four-wheeled vehicles with features that draw inspiration from the best kart racing games.
10101 karts will be dropped exclusively to MomoBlocks holders by a free mint event. Each kart will have various gameplay traits that will affect its in-game abilities.
So, why MomosWorld?
Despite the ongoing crypto winter, the GameFi sector continues to experience tremendous growth. The number of gamers and investors signing up on GameFi launchpads is increasing daily.
According to Foot Print Analytics, there are currently over 26.5 million active GameFi users in the world, that is, a 42% increase on previous year’s total. It is virtually impossible not to find NFT games in all the gaming genres that are traditionally known.
Thus, it might make zero sense that a team full of designers, artists, project management experts, game theorists, and game developers stay up at night, working behind the scenes to produce just another play-to-earn game.
The MomosWorld NFT game was born out of a critical need. The report of many user satisfaction surveys conducted among NFT gamers proves that the NFT market is currently at a momentous phase. Most NFT game developers have defeatedly yielded to a belief that there can be no utopia of a game that is a balanced combination of play-for-fun, play-to-win, and play-to-earn.
What that means for the user is that it is a fool’s dream to imagine living a lifestyle of getting paid for having uninterrupted fun!
As a result, the once-promising NFT gaming industry is fast becoming a space overridden with short-lived games that are just a fun mix of aesthetics, perilously pillared on unsustainable economic models. Thus, gone are the days when P2E games could replace the primary means of income for an entire household.
How is MomosWorld different from other NFT games?
MomosWorld is built on a long-term strategy aimed at unifying P2E enthusiasts and traditional gamers by creating a game poised for mainstream appeal through an incredible in-game experience and a proven P2E reward system.
Compared with other sectors of the blockchain industry, NFT-based projects have the fastest-growing community, especially those from the GameFi niche. Such is the mass interest that early NFT games generated.
However, to sustain the momentum, we believe game developers must build on these gains to onboard a sizable portion of traditional gamers that are yet to play NFT games.
These traditional gamers are those who have never earned a dime playing a game. Except for a few in the eSport niche, many see gaming as a purely recreational activity that offers no reward whatsoever. Some have interests in only “free games.”
For mass adoption to be achieved, we believe NFT game creators need to do more in terms of:
- Strategic partnership with traditional gaming space powerhouse companies to reach mainstream audiences.
- Build a system that allows gamers who don’t have the capability to acquire in-game NFT items to play, earn and enjoy
- Target demographics of the underprivileged and unbanked to accelerate grassroots adoption of P2E
- Liaise with third parties ( influential personalities, institutional firms, content creators such as popular game streamers) to build real businesses around NFT games. We strongly believe there is enough room for everyone in the GameFi economy — gamers and non-gamers.
- Though the esport sector is still at a nascent stage, the recent move by the CGF (Commonwealth Games Federation) to include esport as a legitimate sport in its global sporting competition signals a great turnaround. Thus, NFT game creators must draw out short and long term plans to scale up growth via esport integrations.
It is in light of these that we have spent more than 12 months having roundtable discussions and repeated rounds of strategic consultations as we look to build the first NFT game with the four core aspects of PLAY, EARN, ENJOY, COLLECT.

Lastly, why did we select Ethereum for MomosWorld NFT?
For a project that claims to be built on community-oriented initiatives, it may seem somewhat awkward that we picked Ethereum as the underlying protocol for our NFTs. A network that is notorious for exorbitant gas prices.
Below are the key reasons:
- Ethereum currently has the highest number of NFT users in the digital asset industry, eclipsing other chains by over 95%.
- Launched in 2015, Ethereum is the first smart-contract enabled network for dApps. Since then, it has recorded zero security breach incidents compared to others like Solana, Cardano, etc. Thus, it has a more robust security mechanism than recent chains.
- Also, the launch of the ERC-721 standard token has made it possible to mint gas-optimized NFTs. MomosWorld NFTs will be launched with the ERC-721 architecture.
- Lastly, several L2 chains with widespread popularity have recently been created on top of Ethereum, making it interoperable with several networks.
Thus, from a business perspective of future growth, our decision to build the MomosWorld NFT collection on Ethereum is a no-brainer.
