I like Gibo…

So there must be a reason why he did not accept the position for Secretary of Department of National Defense for the second time… either the business presentation is not impressive enough, not complete enough or he smells something stinky… Kumbaga, bakit hindi mo siya makumbinsi? Sabi nila, me kinalaman daw sa mining. As in, talaga? Ano kaya talaga? Bakit?

I may not be a good businessman but, as far as I know, your convincing skills must be par excellence to always get what you want.

The first time I laid my eyes on him, I fell in love with him… you have this feeling he is an angel with that boyish face… but I voted for Senator Dick Gordon out of loyalty for him and Bayani Fernando (and they did not win. That was year 2010?).

As I look at Gibo’s profile in Wikipedia again, delving on the summary of it (as if it’s a complete dossier, ha ha ha…), I realized he is your typical coño with a heart. Nerd, knows how to fly planes, went to Harvard (some people simply just have everything, huh?).

This caught my attention: “ During the campaign, he shunned from mudslinging and encouraged other Presidentiables to do away with smear campaigning because it breeds disunity among Filipinos.”

Freedom-loving person. Constitution-based lawyer. Harvard graduate.

I don’t know what went on during the first discussion (i.e. face-to-face conversation) and the second discussion (i.e. via telephone), but if he does not like the position, either it means one of the two parties is not being honest with the other or something is amiss for him. He rejected the DND Secretary position again, he might have had questions that went unanswered because he didn’t want to ask them, those unspoken “who, what, when, where, why”, like…

  1. Why is the Philippine president somewhat friendly towards China and a bit antsy towards USA?
  2. What’s that all about with UN?
  3. What exactly is the War on Drugs? Anti-poor? (Of course not, but it’s bloody difficult to enter those posh villages in Makati and do your work.)
  4. Who exactly is Rodrigo Duterte? (Complete knowledge, since birth)
  5. And other things he may be wondering about but too hesitant to ask.

With what’s the local and foreign media reporting these days, it must be difficult to decide which is good and which is bad, which side you’re on and which side you have to ignore.

The next time the DND Secretary post is offered to him, best to talk to him in person (again), present to him the whole picture (like, all of your plans, even if it takes you a week to explain all of it) and, most important of all, be honest with him. He is a man not to be fooled. He is completely a man of his own.

P.S. I could be wrong with this post because I do not know what exactly went on during the face-to-face conversation and the telephone conversation, i.e. what exactly they discussed and talked about. So, just consider this as a pure imagination, ha ha ha ha…
