I Tried Making $600 A Day Just Typing Names For Google In 2024
My Experience Trying an Online Typing Job
I recently came across a YouTube video that claimed you could make up to $600 per day just by typing names online. As part of my “I Tried It” series where I test online money-making ideas, I decided to give this a try.
The video specifically recommended a website called Talent Desire that connects workers with typing jobs. Supposedly, you can make money by typing short words or names like “Mel” and “Bill.” Here were some of the earning potentials highlighted:
Earning Potential
- $20 for typing pages of names
- $100 for typing 5 pages
- $400 per day for typing 20 pages
Additionally, there was no limit to how much money you could potentially earn. The more you typed, the more money you could make.

Understanding the Payment Structure
Looking closer at the payment structure, you earn 10 cents for every word typed. For example:
- 1 page = approximately 300 words = $20
- 2 pages = 600 words = $40
With a potential to type up to 20 pages per day, you could earn $400 or even $600 daily just by typing names.
Getting Started on Talent Desire
The first step was to go to TalentDesire.com to sign up as a home-based worker. Immediately I noticed the website was filled with ads, which seemed a bit sketchy. But I proceeded anyway to explore the available jobs.
Typing and Writing Opportunities
Scrolling down, I saw Talent Desire offered many types of remote work:
- Proofreading
- Freelance blogging
- Translation
- Surveys
However, based on the YouTube video recommendation, I focused on the online typing jobs. This required no experience or technical skills, making it widely accessible.
Taking the RatatType Typing Test
The video emphasized getting certified in typing through RatatType.com to qualify for higher-paying typing jobs. So I went to RatatType.com to take a free typing test.
Earning My Certificate
After completing the test, RatatType issued me a certificate detailing my typing speed and accuracy. As the video suggested, having this certificate can significantly increase earnings potential per page typed.
Applying for the Typing Job
Armed with my RatatType certificate, I went back to Talent Desire to apply for the typing position.
Submitting My Application
I clicked the “Apply Now” button at the bottom which led me through an online application. I entered all my details, agreed to the privacy policy, and hit submit.
And then…nothing.
Evaluating This Money-Making Strategy
It’s been days since applying and Talent Desire never even sent a confirmation email, let alone actual typing work.
Clearly, this specific website and typing job opportunity did NOT pan out or make me any money. However, I do think legitimate online writing/proofreading jobs exist on sites like Upwork so I will continue exploring those options.
As for TalentDesire.com, I have serious doubts about its legitimacy due to all the ads. I cannot recommend it as a viable money-making strategy.
Let me know in the comments if you have ever tried Talent Desire specifically and heard back from them! I’d love to hear others’ experiences.
I hope this post saved you some time by demonstrating this particular online typing job did not work out. I’ll be sure to continue testing other online money-making strategies and reporting back!
