A Resume for Health of Body, Mind & Soul Part 2

We are created for harmony, peace, happiness. Seek therefore whatever is true, good, and beautiful. These things are inexpensive for it lies within us. It costs zilch to be honest, to seek goodness, and to appreciate true beauty, not the plastic stuff that we surround ourselves with to mask the truth about about ourselves.

Have you noticed that some people just always seem to have this peacefulness about them? It is not that these individuals do not encounter problems in life, they have just mastered the art of harmony of body mind and soul. I will now share this with you.

1. How is your mental and bodily health? Be aware of your being at all times. So for instance as you are reading this blog, BE AWARE of your being, your breath, your eyes, your total self. Be happy in it because it is who you are. Do not wish to be somebody else, somewhere else, rather delight in the essence of your being. Know your limitations, know your strengths. Seek to replenish yourself through rest, recreation, exercise, spiritual and physical nourishment.

Practice the art of moderation in everything. Seek not to compete with yourself or with your neighbor. Seek not to dominate yourself or your neighbor rather seek that which is good, true and beautiful in yourself and your neighbor. Love yourself, the more you take care of yourself, the more you are able to give of yourself peacefully to other without depleting yourself.

If your practice this art of seeking that which is true, good and beautiful, you will transform your life and that of those around you.

This has been my practice for almost three decades, it has kept me health, happy and I dare say holy.

2.Whatever your profession, be diligent. Don’t cut corners. Give the best version of yourself. Avoid all manner of hastiness, fulfill your obligations with attention and with love. Little drops of water makes a mighty ocean. Little things matter. Little things done well makes a lot of difference. Do your work selflessly, with the mindset of making the world a better place. “I pay no attention whatever to anybody’s praise or blame, I simply follow my own feelings” Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

We experience so much peace if we can have this holy indifference, and detachment. We stop trying to please every Tom, Dick and Harry. This is the definition of human respect. people pleasing.

The more we work from a place of holy indifference, the more we attain that peace and harmony we are created for. We are able to listen to that still and quiet voice within. We become mystics in a world that seems to be spiraling out of control from being MASTERS at DOING versus BEING. When we can do things without seeking to stroke our egos, seek excessive praise and adulation, we will then have that balance and peace of soul.
