On the Gentleness of Bees
Humming Flower to Flower
I love this time of the year. Summer time is here and all the flowers are in bloom! Sitting in my “Bee Garden” and watching (and listening) to the bees is one of my favorite activities of the season. This poem is for all of the bee lovers out there. If you are scared of bees, I hope to convert you!
These soft fuzzy fliers go zipping, droning, whirring,
humming nature’s softest white noise,
it sounds like they’re purring.
The murmuring of the bees is so soothing and calm,
it feels meditative,
like the soul’s greatest balm.
They’re indifferent to you,
you do not need much nerve,
to sit amongst them in flowers,
still enough to observe the
Pollinating superstars, humming merrily their way,
flying flower to flower tasting spring everyday.
We rely on them greatly to help grow our crops, like apples, bananas, and even chocolate!
So be kind to our bees,
they give us a lot!
Although they are gentle they will protect their nest,
don’t pet them, or smoosh them, and all will be best!
