Tallahassee

There were no stars my last night in
Tallahassee
And the next day breezes called my name.
We sat in thousand dollar porch chairs.
Humidity and fear got the best of us.
I was drunk.
You were sad
Thank you for not kissing me even though
I would have been okay had you did.

Like hollow pains in the chest,
Empty echoes reverberating with each breath
I leave with a heavy heart and glassy eyes.
