UI UX: 5 real-world Problem statements
What is Problem Statement in UI/UX?
In simple words, a problem statement outlines what users struggle with and why. It helps designers focus on solving real needs. By understanding users and their challenges, designers create solutions that truly make a difference in their lives.
Now let’s talk about some real-world problems that need to be solved.
- A working professional (user) needs an easier way to manage and predict monthly commute expenses (goal) because they frequently face challenges in budgeting from different transportation methods (pain point).
- A small business owner (user) aims to enhance their online presence and attract more customers through digital marketing efforts (goal) but lacks the expertise and resources to develop effective digital marketing strategies and campaigns (pain point).
- A first-time homebuyer (user) aims to navigate the complex process of purchasing a home (goal) but faces obstacles such as a lack of knowledge about the home-buying process, difficulty securing financing, and uncertainty about selecting the right property (pain point).
- A freelance graphic designer (user) aims to build a strong portfolio and attract more clients (goal) but encounters challenges such as finding creative inspiration, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and negotiating fair compensation for their work (pain point).
- Addressing the frustration experienced by elderly individuals (users) living with mobility limitations by providing a user-friendly online grocery platform (goal), hindering their ability to shop digitally (pain point).
Choosing a problem statement as a capstone portfolio project -
After looking into it thoroughly, I’ve decided that Problem Statement First is the best fit for my capstone project. It deals with the issues faced by many people who rely on the metro, buses, and local rickshaws for their daily travels in Delhi. By focusing on this problem, I aim to understand the common challenges and frustrations these commuters face every day.
