No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see… (Jesus, Matt 5:15–16‬ )

While in this quote, Jung goes on to say “It is much more needful to preach the art of seeing”, I would say this is only half the truth. Of course, we should all learn to see God in the course of our daily lives in the many ways God reveals themselves to us in nature, in circumstance, in others.

But it is equally unsatisfactory to be asking the world “Can you see God?” or “Why can you not see God?” when it is *our* responsibility to live in ways that continue to make God’s Spirit, hope, peace, and love visible in our world.

And so, may we find ways today to be the visible incarnation of God’s light in someone’s world. Amen. 🙏🏼🌻
