There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is miracle. And the other as though everything is a miracle — Albert Einstein

A narratively poor morning,
Sun shoosh-ed into
Silence,
Grey exterior, hanging
Motionless,
A Yin-yan tapestry,
Houdini’s charcoal on
Firma’s canvas,
Firmament moistened,
Pancaked Nebula stacked
On other, waiting on rain-sauce
To drip,
Skinny stillness,
Pregnant in wait….

Un-looked for,
Rain-holders give way,
Acerbic Shimmers
Arrow into Terra,
Cavort on the leaves,
Earth’s arch-light
Pierces habitation,
Waggling wings take
Flight, disappearing
In diminishing horizons,
The squirrel in the Neem tree
Shrieked the arrival —

A splash of
verdancy and certitude
On canvas grey,
Milieu align to rouse
nature’s child —

Stealth of subliminal-ity
In nature’s derma,
Moulding an
Invasion on my
Subconscious self,
Words waft and arrange
Pirouetting to rhythm of
Gyrating whiff,
Buried in the flesh,
enwrapped in the rind,
Are seeds of my unformed
Verses.

An ‘about-to-rain’ morning suddenly becoming sunny. With all signs of positivity written large, I stepped out into my terrace to check on my green babies and found the first fruit of the season in my lone orange plant. My heart danced.

A gardener is a also a nurturer at heart — I have realised over time and this trait in its subconscious, helps to give face to emotions, word the un-expressed and give birth to, what we call poetry.
Being mindful of my surrounding, has helped me understand myself better, spending time with that patch of green zen, amidst the concrete jungle I live in, has helped me sought the weighty mesh I lived with for some good years, helped me inch towards my new identity (as a writer)I am slowly soaking into, learning to enjoy life without questioning( sounds so unscientific, I know) and enter that ally of peace and healing and find moments with every spark the earth erupts into.Fingers-crossed.

As we are seriously working towards Community Building, I will try and include as many of my friends in my stories(at least once a week) and it will be interesting to know your views and in the process know each other better. Please feel free to tag me if you so wish.

Will you tell us what sparks that moment in you when you sit to write your poetry?! A.H. Mehr Hamsalekha Ali Sujona Chatterjee Dr. Fatima Imam Suma Narayan Roselyn Violet Rose Lee Kira Dawn Rhea Anglesey Denise Darby Margie Willis Filza Chaudhry Cendrine Marrouat Chris Noonan
