Why School Sucks (hint: it’s not because it’s “boring”)

Awesome post, Isabella. I teach sophomore English at Cheney High School in Cheney, Washington. I could not agree more with your argument that by the time you guys get to us in HS it’s really not about learning anymore. This past year, tired of it, I took grades completely off the table by giving everyone of my kids an A for the year. Radical? Yes. But I wanted my class to be about learning, not grading. I called it Project 180. I captured the entire journey on my blog, www.letschangeeducation.com If you want, take a look. But I did not comment here to promote my blog. I wanted you to know how inspired I am by your wisdom. Kids, rock! Bravo, Isabella.
