Heat + detail = hot detail.

Getting closer to the thing

With our mission kickoff workshops done, we set about using the outputs to help us figure out what our discovery should be.

We know we need to understand more about the level of detail our advisers need from our specialist advice content, but to make our 10 week discovery successful we also need a clear and realistic focus.

Analysing the workshop outputs helped us have some great team discussion, and it feels like we’re in a pretty good place already — we’re getting closer to the thing. Oh, and isn’t it wonderful having such brilliant teammates :)

(Our tactics to deal with this week’s heatwave included having a few meetings outside, ice cream breaks, and then switching back to meeting in the office w/ air conditioning. Good luck to everyone when it hits 38 degrees tomorrow.)

Good things to read when planning a discovery

To help me think about how to plan our discovery, I did some reading on how others have approached it.

So I’m sharing the list in the hope that others find it helpful too.

Come and be a product person with us

Our product community is one of the many things I love about working at Citizens Advice.

We support each other in lots of ways, and sometimes just hang out. Over lunch today we got together and played the board game Dixit. Recommend!

The community is growing too, this time with a new role — product lead for our public advice service citizensadvice.org.uk. It’s a properly cool and important job, and I’m massively looking forward to working with the person we appoint.

My boss wrote a thing so that people can find out more about it. Get in touch with Kylie if you’d like to chat about the role!
