Slayer — Diabolus In Musica

--

Like any Slayer record, this one is heavy from the opening riff. Something changed in the welcoming here though. The first riff is slow and heavy. Almost immediately they drift away and allow a soft break where the bass line carries the song for a few seconds. Very uncharacteristic of them. From here forward we have the classic Slayer attack. Thrash being performed by the masters. It does feel like this record leans a little on the popular metal of its time period but Slayer still provides everything the fans require in an honorable way while delivering a unique album for their discography.
