Invest time to take care of your skin

As you may know, the skin is the largest organ of human body, which also include the hair and nails. The skin plays an important role in maintaining our health. Like other human organs, it is constantly working to keep our body safe and in good working order.

It has multiple functions. Not only does it acts as the front-line defender from infection and damage by pathogens and pollution, also it regulates our body temperature at an optimal level according to changes of environmental temperatures and weather conditions, so that our body is not overheated or becomes too cold.

In addition, it protects our body against ultraviolet radiation such as UVA and UVB.

Our skin deserves our attention and care. Apart from having a well balanced diet and good sleep, establishing a good daily skincare routine is essential. Invest 10 to 20 minutes every single morning and night to be in touch with and take care of our skin. If you build this self-care mindset into your skincare regime, you are more likely to see the benefits — happy, radiant, gorgeous skin!

Production of sebum decreases as we get older

Sebum is a natural oily, waxy substance produced by your body’s sebaceous glands, which sit in the middle layers of the skin (dermis), near hair follicles. To be more specific, sebum contains several types of fat molecule: triglycerides and fatty acids (57%), wax esters (26%), squalene (12%), and cholesterol (4.5%). Its functions are to coat, moisturize, and protect your skin.

In other words, sebum is produced inside the skin as a way to keep it moisturised and acts as a water-proofing mechanism, preventing water losing from your body. Sebum also helps maintain flexibility in the skin. In addition, it can act as a natural barrier from harmful invasion such as bacterial and fungal infections.

Sebum levels decline naturally as we get older. When insufficient sebum is produced in our body, our skin becomes dry, less hydrated and less protective. The reduction of sebum consequently aids the creation of fine lines, wrinkles and skin dryness.

Fortunately, this problem can be counteracted with a regular application of moisturizer (lotion, cream or face oil), re-establishing the skin’s firmness, softness and flexibility. Over-production of sebum will make your face look and feel oily.

If sebum, dirt and sweat get trapped in pores, it can cause the appearance of pimples. In some cases it can lead to acne in people who are under 20s and even in adults in their 30s.

Moonette revitalizing cream for mature skin

This face cream is carefully formulated with best quality natural ingredients. It is designed to create a young-looking healthy look. It is a long-lasting moisturizing cream for mature skin. The rich luxurious botanic oils will moisturize your skin for hours, restoring its firmness, softness and elasticity. It also adds radiance and smoothness to your skin.

Shea butter is one of the key ingredients in this day cream. Shea-butter contains two powerful natural antioxidants — vitamin A and vitamin E, which are renowned for their efficacy in reversing sunlight damage and normalizing the appearance of pigmentation.

Other key ingredients are: jojoba, sweet almond, and essential oils like frankincense, myrrh, geranium and balsam Peru, which have shown effectiveness in improving complexion, skin tone, stimulating new skin cells, and preventing wrinkles and ageing spots.

Treat yourself with vegan eye creams

No beauty routine would be complete without an effective cream/gel for your eye contour. Some people skip eye cream and use their face cream or serum instead for the eye area. Personally, I prefer to invest in cruelty-free vegan facial products which are especially formulated to take care of this delicate skin area.

The skin around the eyes is the most sensitive and delicate on our face. The skin of the eye contour is more inclined to dryness and dehydration; it is one of the first places to show signs of ageing. Look for an eye cream which provides optimal moisturization (give the skin around your eyes the oil it needs).

For example, rosehip oil is packed with vitamin C, while avocado oil is rich in vitamin E. These two plant oils are amazing anti-ageing moisturisers, easy to absorb, and perfect for vegan users. Also look for an eye cream with hydrating (give the water you need) properties, search for one that contains hydrating ingredient for skin such as hyaluronic acid.

5 reasons for using eye creams in skincare routine:

· To moisturize skin, improving skin elasticity

· To reduce the presence of wrinkles

· To lessens dark circles

· To reduce puffiness

· To help even out skin tone and lessen age spots

As a rule of thumb, apply your eye cream before face cream or serum to allow the skin to better absorb the nutrients from the eye cream, unless it is instructed differently. Tap the eye cream into the skin in the under-eye area. The tapping movement works as a gentle message which helps to reduce puffiness and increase lymphatic drainage around the eye.

If you have a guasha jade stone, why not use it to massage the muscles and skin on the eyebrows and over the under-eye area? Guasha facial massage is very calming and soothing, it helps to relax the facial muscles, improve blood circulation and release tension. It is a useful tool to boost your facial beauty and will give you a sense of well-being.
