Ethereum’s Newest Hardfork, Muir Glacier, To Take Place On January 1st

Dec 31, 2019 · 1 min read

Muir Glacier comes just weeks after the previous hard fork — Istanbul. It brought several new features and upgrades regarding gas costs, additional resilience against Denial-of-Service attacks (DDoS), and interoperability with equihash PoW-based cryptocurrencies.

With reference to adapt to the Muir Glacier fork update, the statement made by the community is: “If you use an exchange, a web wallet service, a mobile wallet service, or a hardware wallet, you do not need to do anything unless you are informed to take additional steps by your exchange or wallet service.”
