Princess Grace Kelly’s Childhood Home in East Falls is For Sale

The childhood home of Princess Grace Kelly in East Falls has hit the market for a solid $1 million.

The stately home at 3901 Henry Avenue was built sometime during the 1920s and 1930s by Kelly’s father, John B. Kelly, an accomplished Olympic athlete. Grace grew up in the 6-bedroom, 4-bath home, before living in the nearby Alden Apartments for some time and then marrying Rainier III of Monaco. In fact, the prince proposed to her at this very home.

One fun fact about the home include the fact that a door upstairs still has the etchings of the Kelly children’s heights. And here’s a photo of Kelly acting very princess-like in front of the 4,000-square-foot property.

But back to the actual property, which is listing for the first time since it was discovered infested with cats in 2013. The owner, who bought the place in the 1970s, had been living in “unsanitary” conditions for quite some time.

Based on listing photos, it looks like it’s been returned to more decent conditions, though it will still need some work. Realtor Patricia Gernerd tells Curbed Philly that the current owners plan to have the home move-in ready by July 5.
