Five of the best Canada-related links turning our heads and occupying our minds over the last week.

Like two seeds in a maple key

Well, it’s finally happened. A 25-year-old American has proposed (ahem) an app that “saves you from living through a Trump presidency by finding genuine ready-to-marry Canadians.” Maple Match hasn’t even launched yet, but has over 200 people per hour joining its waitlist.

Apple Pay expands to Canada

Our friends and family north of the border will finally have access to Apple Pay after a launch in Canada this week with several of the big banks. Now, if only we could convince Americans to get rid of those silly pennies, our wallets would be in great shape…

Moose in Harmony

Sadly, this is not an article about our organization (though we do sing a mean O Canada): a moose in Alaska was captured enjoying the dulcet tones of the wind chimes outside a rural cabin. Aah, what beautiful moose-ic. (Sorry — couldn’t resist.)

Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau asks for help (and ignites a controversy)

The Prime Minister’s wife asked for some extra help managing her heavy workload of charity speaking engagements and other official commitments this week — and set off a media storm about the limits of taxpayer support for the First Lady, and why Canadians so detest those “tall poppies” who stand out from the crowd.

Drake says awesome things about Canada (again)

Drake returned as guest host of SNL this weekend and managed to sneak in references to the TTC and Jaromir Jagr (fan service!) along the way to explaining how Canadians are, well, different, as part of yet another great SNL take on Jeopardy! Take a peek at the video below.
