Before 2014, I’d never traveled alone.
Dean Davis

I had a business trip abroad and took some extra days for myself. It was almost zero fun. Each day I cried, and my free days were even worse that the workdays. I didn’t gather the courage to do many things I wanted, got mistreated by salesmen, was hit on by a guy and stalked by another. I vowed never to travel alone again.

But wow. Reading your experience made me think the trip did change me. It’s difficult to feel like a fool or waste opportunities after that. This article, and especially your comment, makes me think I could — and should — try it one more time. Embrace the fear with gusto.
