What you need & what you can when publishing in App Store

Every element in category “need” added only because of the rules of good taste. For example, you can publish the app with one screenshot, but common number of screenshots — 5.

All that is described here, concerns only the Application Page in App Store. In addition, You must have an Apple Developer Program account and completly filled agreements, taxes, and banking transactions for publication.

Need

  1. App name (up to 30 symbols).
  2. Subtitle (up 30 symbols).
  3. A URL that links to your organization’s privacy policy. Privacy policies are required for apps that are Made for Kids or offer auto-renewable or free subscriptions. They are also required for apps with account registration, apps that access a user’s existing account, or as otherwise required by law. Privacy policies are recommended for apps that collect user- or device-related data.
  4. Primary category.
  5. Pricing of your app. Prices in App Store are set by tiers. You can see all tiers here. Besides, these same tiers also apply to built-in purchases.
  6. Choose availability in countries. App can be released in only one country or in several countries.
  7. 5 screenshots of your app. 1224x2208px for portrait and 2208x1224px for landspace.
  8. Promotional text (up to 170 symbols before description).
  9. Description (up to 4000 symbols).
  10. Keywords (up to 100 symbols).
  11. App Build loaded using Xcode or Application Loader.
  12. App Icon (1024x1024px).
  13. Copyright (“Copyright © 20XX, YourCompany”)
  14. Rating. Assigned after answering questions from Apple.
  15. Login & password for review, if your app use login from accounts.
  16. Date & time of app release, if you don’t use the option “Automatically release this version”.

Can

  1. App name (up to 30 symbols).

  11. Promotional text (up to 170 symbols before description). You can localize it.
  12. Description (up to 4000 symbols).
  13. Keywords (up to 100 symbols).
  14. A URL with support information for your app.
  15. A URL with marketing information about your app.
  16. App Build loaded using Xcode or Application Loader.
  17. App Icon (1024x1024px).
  18. Copyright (“Copyright © 20XX, YourCompany”)
  19. Rating. Assigned after answering questions from Apple.
  20. Login & password for review, if your app use login from accounts.
