To be fair, you have to take and investigate each case individually. I don't believe that cases of assault and rape should be lumped together. Using Ms. Ford's case as an example is the wrong path to take. This case and how Ms. Ford went about disclosing is certainly not normal. Women don't write letters 30 years later to politicians. It's not a matter of blame although I am certain some did blame Ford, it was about determining if the case was valid and based on what the FBI investigation, there was reasonable doubt.
We need to continue to encourage women and men at every age to go to the authorities as soon as possible after an assault or rape occurs. We need to educate our children to be situationally aware so it does not happen to them.
