20. “The Jedi, The Witch, and The Warlord”— Ahsoka Season 1 (2023)

If you are a true fan of this franchise, if you have followed every storyline of every character and every bloodline in every era, then you had been waiting for a series like Ahsoka. While there were certainly a few episodes that felt expositional in nature, the big plot point episodes hit harder than was expected. The finale is a good example of this. Culminating on built promises, Ahsoka looked to adapt parts of the famous “expanded universe” by setting up Thrawn’s return to reclaim the known Galaxy as “Heir to the Empire.” It has most definitely done this, with a cliffhanging conclusion. Fans look to the proceeding Dave Filoni feature film, which is meant to tie together the television shows thus far. Furthermore, the finale paid off multiple elements of the Rebels TV series that have been left unwritten, including beloved character arcs and plot details.
