I’m Real When it’s Useful

There’s something [good] to be said about Zack Snyder when he gets to play in his favorite playgrounds; but more so when he doesn’t have the “parental guidance” of the studios. This film really did exceed my expectations and you can’t even compare it to what we got in 2017. Snyder’s vision coming to life makes this film very different and very real for the fans and audiences. The way he put this film together benefitted everyone and it’s great that HBO Max (now titled MAX) allowed him to bring it to life on screen. Looking back on it two years later is interesting when you consider all the changes that have occured with DC Films since then. One of Marvel’s best now runs it (James Gunn), and it’s completely re-written it’s agenda for films going forward. This includes cutting the “Snyderverse” out and moving on from it. Much like with Christopher Nolan, we will remember the individual works of these filmmakers for what they were and what they meant to us in the moment. Remembering them is all we can do. Snyder hasn’t always been perfect, in fact he’s been downright bad at times, but after his Justice League, it’s hard to deny, the guy is a visionary. I realize now the reason I liked parts of the 2017 Justice League was because those parts were the parts Snyder…
