When you first got here as a freshman you were totally lost. The JBK?! The CC?! No, they aren’t the same thing

After a week here you realized our campus was actually smaller than most and that ten minute time slot between classes was cake (You just learned how to speed walk)

The weather always seems to surprise you even if you grew up in the area. You’ll never get used to it

And despite what you might have thought (if you’re not from the panhandle) it does snow here… quite a bit actually

If the eternal flame is still lit then you can bet there will still be class, you’re just extra careful on the ice

You started the semester off with hella dining dollars and ate Chickfila every day

… But then you’d run out half way through the semester and end up on that caf flow

You regret ever having complained about caf food once you move off campus because broke…

When you decide to go to the JBK for some lunch and see that the line is ridiculously long

You realize they’re in line for Chicken nuggets because Chickfila is always worth the wait

You’ve been invited to go to events but never confirm you’re attending unless you know there will be BUFFALO COOKIES

You’ve quickly discovered that there are two types of people at WT, those who longboard and those who are terrified of being run over by a longboarder (Those who do are usually pretty good at it)

No matter if you’re an athlete, marathon runner, or Shaun T. himself, the CC stairs will never not be exhausting

When you realize that you’ve referred to Mary Moody Northen Hall as “Northern” and have been wrong every time

When you aren’t involved in Greek life on campus

But you have a best friend who’s so frat/srat and you support their brotherhood/sisterhood

Even though you think it’s overdone, you still stop to snap a selfie (or basic pic) in front of the buffalo fountain because the lighting, the flowers, it’s just perfect

When you finally learn the words to the fight song and it gives you all the feels when you hear it. On on Buffaloes… Forever.

You know this hand gesture means the furthest thing from hanging loose

You didn’t expect the university president to be so down to Earth. You feel like you could be friends with Dr. O’brien

You’ve even seen his best dance moves

You’ve stalked people walking to their cars because a good parking spot is hard to come by

As soon as they drive away that spot is fair game

The AC exit doors are tricky and you always have to slow your pace or else you’ll run right into the glass

The automatic doors in Centennial & Founders close so quickly you have to run inside or else

The wifi

You know you better order your parking permit because UPD stays on top of things

When you couldn’t find a spot you made friends with the shuttle bus drivers

You were honestly a little upset when you found out your residence hall wasn’t air conditioned

But you learned to love your box fan and made the best memories there

You’re tired of people asking if you’re an Aggie

You along with the entire university were ready to go to war on Twitter over a dunk contest… Never forget

“Everybody Up!” is the best, most tiring tradition especially when your team is so good that the opposing team can’t score

You were intrigued the first time you heard the Maroon Platoon chant

When you and your squad decide to go hiking at PDC and you read the sign that recommends 1 gallon of water

And understand why hours later when you get to the lighthouse

You aren’t sure whether or not to say hi to your professors when you see them at Walmart

You probably haven’t noticed you do this yet but on Wednesdays, you wear maroon. #WestTexasWednesday

Actually you wear maroon everyday because half of what you own are free WT t-shirts

And finally… no matter what, you’ll always be proud to call yourself a Buff. WT is home. #GoBuffs
