Overwhelming turnout at Morpheus Labs’ first official event with Quarkchain & NEM Foundation
Friday night, 29th June saw SGInnovate (itself a Singapore Government deep-tech incubator) play host a massive crowd attending the event that was headlined by Morpheus Labs, Quarkchain and NEM Foundation.
The highly successful event was attended by a crowd from diverse backgrounds from blockchain experts, technical software engineers to beginners.
Big News for Morpheus Labs
During the event, Morpheus Labs announced an official partnership with Sure International (a unit of Batelco) as its sole distributor to capture the blockchain market in Middle East. This highly strategic collaboration will pave the way for bigger things to come and represent a significant milestone for Morpheus Labs to deliver world-class blockchain cloud solutions to serve a multitude of international businesses that are located with the islands.
Morpheus Labs also announced that it is making available a private demo for selected partners and customers where they can test drive the platform. Commercial release will be in October. Interoperability which remains the most elusive solution facing the blockchain industry will be a main highlight with Morpheus Labs putting in significant resources behind this strategic initiative.
NEM Foundation takes over the stage
The second presentation saw NEM Foundation share their vision on a blockchain where multi-sig wallets is a standard operating feature, an important but difficult to implement feature in current blockchains. NEM’s code has been written from scratch, something Stephen Chia, NEM Regional Director was quick to point out. Stephen also sees huge potential in blockchain application in all industries and not just in financial industries and the partnership with Morpheus Labs will be key.
Quarkchain talks about sharding
One of the highlights of the night was Quarkchain’s presentation on sharding as a solution to solve the current issue of blockchain scalability attracted a lot of attention. The sharding solution allows transactions of up to 100,000 per second, way significantly more than the current 8 to 10 transactions per second (tps) for Ethereum. High throughput gives hope to blockchain solutions being adopted by financial institutions as well as industries that demand performance, something which remains elusive up to this point. Quarkchain sees Morpheus Labs as the main driver for this adoption in addition to what they have to offer.
“Morpheus Labs greatly simplifies blockchain dapp development and promotes wider applications of blockchain. We would like to work with Morpheus Labs to build next-generation scalable dApps that could serve massive users.” Quarkchain Founder & CEO, Qi Zhou
