Why It’s Impossible To Make a Good Movie About Christopher Columbus

All of this vitriol against Columbus and Columbus Day is sadly just another indicator of the ignorance, even stupidity, of the millennial. Those who conquered the Western hemisphere acted as contemporary peoples had always acted, no better or worse; those they conquered suffered as the Europeans themselves had suffered, especially at the hands of Muslim invaders. A large portion of the indigenous population was complicit in the conquering, which is why such a small number of Spanish were able to conquer the Aztec empire.
I don’t disagree that these movies both suck, but there is plenty to the story of Columbus to make a good movie from.
