Let’s not conflate irredeemable bad behaviour with the point of this article, which was not to defend or excuse entitled individuals no-one can work with, but to explain the abysmal managerial framework and corporate culture which caused the likely misperception and false classification of an obviously talented individual into a scapegoat for the failings of management, and lack of a sound workflow, including balanced workload, documentation & procedure. Rockstars never exist in a vacuum. Just as in sports & the entertainment industry, bad behaviours are typically nurtured by managers dependent on their star, so they can grab all the benefit & wealth that star brings with success — right up until something breaks, the star is discarded and management carries on unscathed to the next talented innocent.
