Her First Look

(Fiction Story-II)

Kabir’s Narrative

Kabir, when he entered the class he saw a girl at his seat.

She looked like she was answering some question trying to keep a straight face but was laughing inside.

She was so pretty! Fair, small nose, long brown curls, with a shine in her eyes. Just as he was observing her, he smiled and she looked at her. He stared into her big beautiful expressive eyes.

Her look did to him what no one had done to him till now. Many girls liked him and he was attracted to many, but what this girl’s look did to him was beyond hid understanding. A sudden urge to touch her came over him. He wanted to hold her face in his hands and kiss her full lips.

Someone called him and he came back to his senses again. He straightened his face. This was not a part of his plan.

His plan was to finish the next two years with a good grade, excel at tennis, get a good score in his SATs to go to USA to study.

He had deliberately avoided getting into any relationship so as to stay focused. He also believed that relationships at his age were very time-consuming and unstable and he had no time for anything unstable. He had thought it all through when a girl he was attracted to had asked him out.

He wanted to go to USA so badly and a long distance relationship in different time zones would never work out. No girl was going to change his game plan.

Moreover he knew that most good looking girls were dumb and had the biggest attitude and this girl, who was the prettiest girl he had ever laid eyes was sure to be one of them. The attitude was always directly proportionate to looks.

No matter how strongly he trusted his control over his mind, he didn’t like what looking at her was doing to him. He was irritated with himself as he was losing control over his mind and every second of looking at her was making him want to touch her.

He decided that it was best if he stays away from her. He, who was generally friendly and welcoming decided to ignore her. His friends stared at him as he rudely asked her to find another seat. There was irritation in his eyes which was not unnoticed by his friends. Despite of his decision to ignore her, he couldn’t help steal glances at her while the teacher taught.
