Ken, I really love your insight that the Social Contract is the missing glue that holds a working structure together.
You mentioned that “The writing and agreeing the Social Contract is logical, easy and relatively quick.” While this was my experience with my own LeadWise team too, I think this might be different when trying to introduce self-management in a team/organisation, as you probably already know. In fact, I think there might be benefit to slowing down to really surface what are the key differences in terms of expectations and commitment, so that the eventual Social Contract has buy-in and alignment from everyone on the team.
Regarding your team’s Social Contract, I really love the level of detail your team went down to, especially the 4 points on “commitment”. Its clear you really thought through the possible scenarios, and the contingencies for each scenario- its very real and I could see this working beautifully.
