Don’t Slow Down For Anybody
Stop wasting your time on people who aren’t worth your time anymore.
We’re all on a special journey. Each of us has a special destination that needs to be reached. We gotta make all the right choices and do all the right things to get us right where we need to be. Throughout that journey we’re going to meet millions of people that could potentially push us forward or hold us back.
There are so many people in my life that I can name right now who I’d love to take with me as I move up in life but I’m starting to realize that not everybody is fit for the ride and it’s time to start making some cuts. It’s never easy but it is worth it in the long run. I’m not trying to sound “cut-throat” or anything like that. This isn’t a “dog-eat-dog” or “trust no one” type of entry. All I’m saying is be wise about who you allow to stay in your life. Not everybody is going to value what you value, like your dreams, your goals and your aspirations, the way you do. And although their mouths say they do their actions will always reveal where their heart really is.
Unfortunately, your priorities aren’t everybody else’s priorities.
Fortunately, it doesn’t matter.
Eventually we gotta learn not to give our dreams to people who are just going to save them on their desktop and never touch them. I just learned this yesterday! And now I understand why Jesus said not to “throw your pearls to pigs.” All pigs do is roll around in their own pile of crap and trample anything that gets near them.
So make sure the right people are in your life and most importantly your close circle. Find a mentor or a leader that can provide you with wise council. Surround yourself with people who have faith in you and aren’t afraid to correct you when you’re wrong. Remove anything and anyone that is unacceptable to you and the values that you hold dearly because as your life builds momentum their baggage will only slow you down. If they are not willing to keep up with you they need to kick rocks.
Change the changeable
Accept the unchangeable
Remove yourself from the unacceptable
By all means, be friends with everyone! Love everyone! Be kind to people. You don’t have to cut people off completely, just keep them at a distance in certain areas if you feel like they aren’t going to benefit your life in the long run. If there is constant tension or quarreling or anything of that sort you don’t need to carry it with you as you climb your mountain.
You can always try to work things out.
I’m only speaking from experience.
Hope this helps. Have a great night!
