Our first-class for the week was on ‘Web Development’ by Dami Ade. She was very determined to make the class a practical one. We worked in groups to develop a website for DigifyPro, Nigeria. It was very essential to identify goals of building the website and the complimenting pages. Also, we were asked to draw out site maps and assign pages to each member of the group. Facebook Team flew in from Lagos to cover our class activities. It was an amazing platform for us to be showcased globally.

Tuesday was our nation’s Independence Day. We were home to tidy all pending activities and also to sharpen the skills we have learnt so far. Facebook-Blueprint Wednesday with our in-house trainer, Joshua Theophilus. He showed us the way around Google Ads, the essence of placements and bidding, how to check the insights and export reports on instagram.

Thursday was the D-day. We had an open day where we had the opportunity to meet and speak with recruiter from the different companies in Abuja. Following the instructions of our program director, Mrs. Florence Atunwa Olumodimu, we had practised our elevator speech so as to ace the video resume, a one minute video to sell the digital skills that we have acquired in the last 8 weeks.

Most of the recruiters were friendly, but my first interview session was tough in a way. I was the first person they met so they had enough time to listen to all I had to say. The question they asked was to describe myself and the skills I have a pretty confidence about. So they said, “If you call yourself a strategist, explain to me like a 5-year old girl. Fridays are ritual days for presentations at DigifyPro, Nigeria. We were to come up with a Digital Campaign for DigifyNG, a new idea entirely that could have been implemented for successive cohorts.
